Mapping a Network Drive to your SharePoint Documents Folder (Windows-XP)

Open Windows Explorer and click on Tools menu--> Map Network Drive

Select a Drive letter for your drive and enter the URL of your shared documents folder

In the Folder field and leave the check box for Reconnect at logon checked and click on Finish

Note: Make sure to type the URL by removing %20 and replacing them with spaces, do not copy paste it. Type in only the essential part (highlighted) and not the entire URL

E.g.: http://km.suryatechnologies.com/Docs/SharePoint%20Project/Forms/AllItems.aspx?RootFolder=%2fDocs%2fSharePoint%20Project%2fSharePoint%20how%20to%27s&FolderCTID=&View=%7b2F1095DC%2d0EAE%2d4AAD%2dB41B%2d6088C150AE67%7d

Provide your SharePoint Login Credentials if asked for and click on OK and wait for a few seconds for the data to be retrieved from your SharePoint Documents folder.

When done your SharePoint documents will be accessible in Windows Explorer, you can make changes to your SharePoint Documents as you would in a normal Windows Explorer folder.
